Phyllis Hamilton

In Remembrance of Phyllis

There aren’t words to express the shock and sorrow we feel with the passing of this dear member.  We first met Phyllis at an event in 2004 and yes, she was impersonating Loula Long Combs.

She was always Mrs. Combs to us.  She loved the Long history and was well versed in it to the point that the character was complete.  She was willing to come as Loula when we asked.

A few memories: “It was eerie being around Phyllis when she was impersonating Mrs. Combs.  She was the same size and build with the same sweet, down-to-earth personality ... and always a smile.”

“I turned in amazement when I first heard her voice as I thought it was so in character of the Mrs. Combs that I had imagined.  Her voice had a soft, Southern accent.  She carried that same giving spirit.”

“She had that same jolly sense of humor.  She was a riot but at the same time had an elegance about her.”

We surely do miss her but enjoy the thought that she is having a good visit with Mrs. Combs and the Long family!
