Yellow Pine Church

Yellow Pine Church

Yellow Pine Christian Church was formerly called Union Church.  The church was built in 1902 by Long-Bell Lumber Co.  It was a part of the Yellow Pine Community where the Globe Lumber Company was located.  The little town thrived to numbers of 2000.  It consisted of 3 hotels, a commissary, school, doctors office, ice house and mail stop.  All denominations used the church and they would take turns.  It stands today much in the same condition and church services are 11-Noon on Sunday.  This church has been placed on the National Historic Registry.  It is the only building left from the lumbering town of Yellow Pine, Louisiana.  Brother Tom Brown is the pastor with an attending congregation ranging from 30-60 every Sunday.
